PESACH 2011 "SEDER OF FREEDOM AND HEALING" FREE PESACH SEDERS TO FAMILIES WHO HAVE SUFFERED ABUSE

The Voices of Justice will be hosting Pesach 2011 this Yom Tov, at a beautiful shul in the 9th avenue vicinity, on Boro Park. This safe and healthy environment is open for parents and people who suffered from domestic abuse or have been a victim of child abuse. It will be an interesting and  inspiring event, with two sedarim. The easy-going program goes along with a schedule specifically for everyone to be at their own pace. A variety of foods will be prepared by willing volunteers, most of them victims who have the desire to be needed, in a safe place where they will not be judged. Space is limited, so please call Ms henne or Mark meyer appel at 1-800-958 2904  to reserve your space or

  2. The story of the Passover Haggadah is so familiar that nearly everyone who takes part in the Seder can recite it without a hitch. But, like all the Torah, the nuances of the Seder speak to different people in different ways.

Passover is the story of freedom from the lash and chain and the exalted rise of a nation to the pinnacle of human achievement: the knowledge that the Divine Hand controls nature and the experience of Revelation at Sinai. However, not all pain is inflicted by the lash of a taskmaster and not all chains are clamped on by jailers.

The Haggadah also addresses those who suffer from the slavery of an oppressive environment or, even more difficult, the sort of obsessive behavior that plagues many or most lives.

The ultimate freedom is the ability to live constructively and happily; FROM RABBI DR ABRHAM J TWERSKI

  4. I am happy to report that the full house is getting fuller! From volunteers offering to peel and chop, to kashering and schlepping, we have it all set up in record time. Yasher Koach to Mark for pulling every string. By providing a safe haven for everybody, people will no longer fear to report crimes to the police. They will feel a peace, knowing they have a loving environment to fall back on when they become excommunicated for speaking the word abuse. May this be the geula that our grandfathers were praying for. Please keep the phone lines busy 1-800-958-2904!

  5. This is so amazing, it is the opportunity I've been waiting for for oh soooooo long. A chance to get together with others who can understand the 'gnut' degradation / shame and get to the 'shevach' praiseworthy awesome elevated place in a better world. Finally!! The teachings of our sages never sounded so good. Thank G'd for bringing this together. I'm so looking forward to being there together with all the truly beautiful people. Chag Sameach All, Yitta Sarah
